Henry Scott (1911-1966)

British maritime artist Henry Scott was a 20th century painter of historical maritime subjects which he portrayed in a popular romantic style. His career closely parallels that of his better known contemporary Montague Dawson and their works are often compared with each other. Scott was an honorary member of the International Society of Master Mariners also know as “the Cape Horners”. He was also and active early member and exhibited regularly with the Royal Society of Marine Artists between 1950 and his death in 1966.
