Charles Taylor (1841-1843 fl.)
Return to Collection  :: Return to Two-masted Vessels

Charles Taylor was the son of another London maritime artist also named Charles (fl. 1836-1871). Charles the Younger was noted for both his marines and his landscapes which he exhibited at the Royal Institution beginning in 1843 and at the Royal Academy between 1846 and 1849. Working primarily in watercolors, he is known to have collaborated with British marine watercolorist T.G. Dutton who painted in a similar style. Both Dutton and Taylor were also skilled lithographers.
