John Lynn (1826-1845 fl.)
Return to Collection  :: Return to Schooners

John Lynn was a British marine artist who was active in London during the first part of the nineteenth century. His paintings usually feature accurate ship portraits, often depicting ships of the British East India Company, combined with interesting harbor backgrounds or exotic coastal locations. His style and choice of subject matter appear to have been influenced substantially by William Huggins whose studio was located close to Lynnís.
