William Frederick Mitchell (1845-1914)

Mitchell was born in Calshot Castle near Southhampton. He was a near deaf-mute who painted mostly watercolor portraits of ships of the Royal Navy, mainly on commission from Naval Officers serving at the nearby Portsmouth Dockyard.
